The history of Freemasonry in Japan contains many undocumented areas and episodes, the result of loss of valuable documents in natural disasters, wars and, in some cases, careless management of records. Many other areas of Masonic interest have received little or no attention and warrant further investigation.
Especially welcome are contributions on the following topics and issues:
- Comprehensive bibliography of rituals used by Scottish Constitution lodges in Japan
- Yokohama Freemasonry in the aftermath of the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923
- Involvement of the Kobe lodges and the Tokyo Masonic Association in the sale of the Yokohama Bluff Temple
- Reasons behind the belated recognition of the Grand Lodge of Japan by UGLE
- Relevance of Masonic symbolism to Japanese culture
- Recent membership trends and closure of Japanese Constitution lodges
- The policy of exclusive territorial jurisdiction in Japan
Separate sections will be created for these and other topics, with room for comments and discussion.
